Just in time for the Fourth of July weekend, I have two new wonderful paranormal cozy mystery books out for you to read! Get in a patriotic mood with these spooky chillers!
The first book is Fireworks and Waffles, book number 18 in my Diner of the Dead series of mysteries.
The Fourth of July is a big deal in Haunted Falls. Parades, picnics, performances and so much more highlight the celebration of the festive and patriotic holiday. Local diner owner, Sonja Reed is so consumed with plans for holiday events that she’s had a brief respite with no communications or expectations from ghosts, witches, and other lively spirits.
Unfortunately, the paranormal world seems dead set on reminding the busy gal that it does indeed exist and just might have some work for her to do. When another strange package shows up on her doorstep, Sonja can’t help but wonder if it might not be another sinister gift from a persnickety witch looking to give her a scare.
A fireworks accident claims the life of a local man, casting a gloomy pall over the festivities in town. When further investigation reveals that the incident was no accident, Sonja begins to suspect that there just might be a connection between the strange package and the murder. Holiday celebrations are quickly forgotten when she and boyfriend, Sheriff Frank Thompson, scramble solve the mysterious murder before the killer can strike again.
The second book is Moans, Mummies, and Murder, book number 2 in the Dead-End Drive-In series.
Sisters, Sarah-Belle and Anna-Lee Francis, are preparing to host their very first movie premiere at the Voodoo Drive-In, and they are going all out for the occasion. Since it's a mummy movie, they are working to deck out the entire restaurant and drive-in with an Egyptian theme, even going to the length of renting a life-sized sarcophagus to display.
When the sarcophagus, which is supposed to be a novelty, arrives with a very real, very frightening, mummy inside, things start to get a bit weird, and escalate from bad to worse when a body is discovered on their doorstep. Strange sounds seem to come from within the sarcophagus, and the sisters don’t want to believe that the mummy has come back to life, but wonder if the tales of a three thousand year old curse might actually be true.
