Hot Cocoa with Christmas Cream
3 Cups Sugar
1 1/2 Cups Cocoa
1 1/2 Cups Black Onyx Cocoa
1 Tablespoon Salt
Warm Milk for Serving
1 16oz. Carton of Heavy Whipping Cream
1 Teaspoon of Vanilla
1/4 Teaspoon Peppermint Extract
Cinnamon Sugar (for garnish)
- Sift the sugar, cocoa, black onyx cocoa, and salt together in a bowl. Whisk the ingredients until evenly mixed. Store in an airtight container.
- Combine the whipping cream, the vanilla, and the peppermint in a mixing bowl. Beat the mixture until it begins to firm up. The cream is done when it creates peaks when you pull out the beater.
- Warm 1 cup of milk (in the microwave or in a pot on the stove) per 2 tablespoons of hot cocoa mix. Mix the powder into the warm milk until it dissolves.
- Serve in individual mugs. Top with the Christmas Cream and sprinkle a little bit of cinnamon sugar over the top.
